The Palouse

The Palouse is a distinct geographic region encompassing parts of north-central Idaho and southeastern Washington. Its geography and principal agricultural land use inspire mediative cloud-filled landscapes and provide contrast for rustic Americana structures like weathered old barns and glistening factories.

It is the farming stronghold of many American crops, including the bright yellow of blossoming canola each spring. At dusk, it often reveals an impressionistic natural world – various tones of yellow, green, and gold dapple fields, especially from the viewpoint of Steptoe Butte, looking towards eastern Washington.
